Canadian stocks ravaged
This whole problem is typical of media bias in Canada towards Old Canadians. New Canadians don't hold much of their wealth in stocks
so the story is not so relevant to them. But economic issues relevant for New Canadians and minorities never get front page treatment. Instead, it's issues like the stock market get way too much coverage.

NBC Direct adopts personalized ad network
NBC has announced that its NBC Direct downloadable TV platform currently in beta will utilize the YuMe network for its advertising. YuMe was designed especially for broadband video, providing ad and campaign management, trafficking and reporting for its users. It delivers metrics on viewership and ad performance in both downloaded and streaming playback, and even changes overlaid ads to embedded ones when the content is moved from place to place.

Riot police direct traffic away from Gaza gap
Egyptian riot police gathered today at the Egypt-Gaza border, directing traffic away from the frontier wall smashed by Hamas militants a day earlier. Dozens of Egyptian police in helmets and with search dogs used batons to beat the hoods of private cars and pick-up trucks that massed at the border to carry Palestinians further into Egyptian territory.
US and Arab officials said yesterday that Egypt had assured the US it would soon reseal its border with the Gaza Strip.
Thousands of Palestinians continued to flow through the wrecked border fence into Egypt today. Egyptian drivers idled their pick-up trucks just inside Egyptian territory, charging incoming Palestinians 20 Egyptian pounds (£1.80) for a ride into downtown Rafah and neighbouring El Arish. More>>
